Set in the roaring 1920s, The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical-within-a-musical that will have you laughing out loud. The show is narrated from the perspective of a lonely theater connoisseur, known only as "Man in Chair,” who rediscovers the soundtrack to a long-forgotten Broadway production (can you guess the show's name?) and decides to play the lost record. As it spins, the musical bursts to life right there in his apartment. Filled with a vibrant plot, delightful musical numbers, and thrills and surprises, you won't want to miss The Drowsy Chaperone!
Presented by the SCAD School of Film and Acting, The Drowsy Chaperone was written by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. With music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, the production is presented with arrangements by Music Theater International (MTI). The original Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone was produced by Kevin McCollum, Roy Miller, Bob Boyett, Stephanie McClelland, Barbara Freitag, and Jill Furman.
