Dear All,

It’s hard to believe that this Thursday is Thanksgiving, and we’ll usher in 2022 in six short weeks.

As you break bread this week with family and friends, we hope you take a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are as a community.

Our glass is more than half-full in the Lowcountry. Through all the challenges we’ve faced, our business community has prospered in ways that fly in the face of national trends. Our tourism sector stayed healthy and thriving, and that helped buoy our local economy. We’ve seen our property values increase, and new residents flock to retire and raise their families here. We’ve seen investments in our community and businesses opening and expanding. That’s great news for everyone.

There’s so much to be grateful for: The community for the commitment they continuously show to preserving our quality of life; the natural beauty that surrounds us; the rich culture and activities we can’t find anywhere else; and so much more.

The epitome of the community’s character is the annual Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Hudson’s Seafood on the Docks. Each year, over 400 volunteers come together to feed more than 1,600 guests a traditional and free Thanksgiving dinner. Donations garnered from the dinner benefit local food banks.

That’s the spirit of giving and nourishing one another that makes the Lowcountry such a special place to call home.

Thanksgiving is a special time. Let’s all come together and show our gratitude for what we have and be kind to one another.

Have a blessed week!

Sincerely,
Bill
