Happy first day of spring!

We always know when spring is in the air when the Lowcountry is filled with outdoor festivals and activities. Wingfest had a great turnout over the weekend and we’re only three weeks away from the RBC Heritage presented by Boeing. This year marks the earliest sell-out in the history of the event. That speaks volumes about the excitement for this year’s tournament and the community support for it.

It’s National Tartan Day on April 6 and we’re ready to celebrate with our popular annual lead-up for the tournament, our Plaid Par-Tee at the USCB Hilton Head Island campus. It’s always a great time and a fun way to kick off the RBC Heritage. Click here to RSVP.

Tournament Director Steve Wilmot will be joining us at our next Power Hour Tele-Town Hall on April 5. We will also hear from Fred Green, the CEO of the South Carolina Bankers Association, on the recent bank failures and what it means for the economy. We will also talk with the new Bluffton Police Chief Joe Babkiewicz about his plans for the department and the community. Click here to be part of it.

Tickets are going fast for the Chamber Ball on April 1 presented by AutoNation. The theme is Mad For Plaid: A Tribute to the RBC Heritage. If you haven’t reserved your spot, do so this week.

I recently attended the opening night of Lean Ensemble’s newest production entitled Mitchelville. It was a sold-out evening and a memorable and moving play written about the iconic history of America’s first Freedmen’s village on the island. I encourage you to check out the production, you’ll be glad you did.

Make it a great week!

Sincerely,
Bill
