It’s almost that time of year again … back to school season.

Students head back to school in a few weeks, and our educators are hard at work getting ready to welcome them back to the classroom. Recently, the Beaufort County School District announced that more than 20 of its schools will offer free breakfast and lunch to thousands of students thanks to the Community Eligibility Program. You can read more about it here.

This is also the time of year when parents are busy shopping for supplies and uniforms. While you are back-to-school shopping, we encourage you to think of others and give back. Here are three ways you can help:

  • Bluffton Self Help teachers classroom supply drive
  • Donations to Deep Well, especially small to medium-sized backpacks
  • United Way’s Operation Backpack and Mimi’s Closet programs

This Friday through Sunday is also South Carolina’s Tax-Free weekend, and we thank our local Tanger Outlets for partnering with us on a social media giveaway for a $500 gift card (you can still enter here). We encourage you to shop locally when you are stocking up on your school supplies and electronics. It does help keep wealth in the community and supports our friends and neighbors.

Make it a great week!

Sincerely,
Bill
