Here we go!

It’s one of the most anticipated weeks in the state: The RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing has arrived!

We hosted our annual Plaid Par-Tee last week, and it was evident that “Heritage Fever” is in the air. While the winner will don the plaid jacket this Sunday, the real winners are the local charities that benefit from the money raised by the tournament and distributed by the Heritage Classic Foundation.

We were fortunate to have the PGA TOUR’s Senior VP of Business Affairs, Jon Norris, join us on our popular Power Hour call last week and he agreed that this tournament is unlike any other. He noted that community involvement in the tournament just doesn’t happen in other communities to the level it does in the Lowcountry. It’s one of the reasons the PGA Tour has made this a designated tournament and why it’s a favorite among professional golfers. Tournament Director Steve Wilmot has been at the helm for 37 years, which makes him the longest-running director on the Tour. He also spoke of the incredible volunteers that truly make this event unique.

Over 500 of you attended our recent Mad for Plaid Chamber Ball. Click here to check out the chamber’s tribute video that had the crowd on its feet. It will make you proud to be part of the tournament.

Whether you’re watching the great coverage on CBS Sports or the Golf Channel, or checking out the golf action live from Harbour Town, know that you’re part of something special.

Sincerely,
Bill
