• Congratulations to the Town of Bluffton Government for its groundbreaking of the New Riverside Barn Park, which will feature 37 acres of trails, open space, a playground, and will host public and private events!

  • Hilton Head Island Town Council voted unanimously to purchase 12 acres of property located on Jonesville Road.

  • The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Leadership Class is hard at work on its project - fishing line recycling receptacles that will help protect the wildlife in our waterways. The receptacles will be installed at all boat ramps managed by Beaufort County and other key locations including Jarvis Creek Park, the Sailing and Rowing Center and Fish Haul Beach Park.
  • Bravo to the Outside Foundation, restaurants and volunteers who captured, recycled and returned 29.7 tons oyster shells into our local waterways

  • Watterson Brands will open The Bank on Pope Avenue later this spring. The 17,000 square foot former Bank of America building is a $13 million investment, and will include a brewery, beer garden and restaurant complex including indoor and outdoor seating. It is expected to employ over 100 people.

  • The chamber was proud to partner with over 10 community partners at this weekend's "The Dawn of the Silicon Garden" job fair at Hilton Head Island High School. Job seekers learned about the different employment opportunities right here in the community in industries from hospitality to tech and everything in between! 

  • Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) was recently given an “A” Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group. It is one of only three hospitals in South Carolina to earn the distinction.

  • Congratulations to the Bluffton Police Department on the ribbon cutting of the Reflection Plaza.

  • The Heritage Classic Foundation is increasing the percentage of matching dollars contributed to the Birdies for Charity and Heritage Champions Fore Charity programs from 15% to 20% in 2023. The PGA TOUR recently announced the 2023 RBC Heritage would enjoy a designated status which includes raising the purse to $20 million and a guarantee that many of the top PGA TOUR pros will compete.

  • The Town of Bluffton awarded its first Historic Preservation Grant to the Historic Bluffton Foundation for exterior renovations to the Heyward House. 

  • Minto Communities USA announces that four of their five master-planned communities have been named on the John Burns Real Estate Consulting list of Top 50 Master-Planned Communities in the United States for 2022, including Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head at number 25.

  • The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) reaccredited the Bluffton Police Department (BPD) in November for the fifth time since 2009.
