Liam Giblin was awarded The Society of Bluffton Artists Naomi McCracken Scholarship. He plans to attend Winthrop University in Rock Hill and major in illustration.

The Beaufort County School District has promoted three educators to principals:

Michelle Brockway, Hilton Head Island Elementary School. She was previously the assistant principal there and has held various positions in the district for 22 years.

Tracy Lanese, Okatie Elementary School. She’s been with the district for 23 years as an elementary school teacher, interventionist, and assistant principal.

Clinton Austin, Hilton Head Middle School. He was previously an assistant principal at May River High School and coached athletics at Bluffton Middle and High schools.

The Town of Hilton Head Island welcomed two new staffers:

Benjamin Brown, Senior Advisor to the Town Manager. He has 20 years of experience in community development and planning, and was most recently the Director of Planning and Property Operations for the Palmetto Dunes Property Owners Association.
