Sometimes the best gifts don’t come underneath the Christmas tree…they’re around it.
We’re fortunate to come together with friends and family for the holidays. Many of our active military personnel are stationed around the country and around the globe and are not able to be with family during this season. We are forever grateful for the gift of freedom they provide year-round.
Being in the military takes its toll on many of our troops. Veterans have a 57% higher risk of suicide than those who haven’t served. Over 30,000 soldiers have lost their lives to suicide in the last 20 years compared to over 7,057 killed in combat during that same timeframe. There’s a local organization that’s helping veterans connect with each other through their shared common experiences. Operation Patriot FOB is a local group where military personnel and first responders can come together and connect.
