We all have heard the phrase “born leader.” Leaders are made, not born, and can be cultivated.

Courses and programs abound to help develop leadership skills, but they only take you so far without a strong understanding of the world and community around you.

Our flagship Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Leadership program does just that. Participants get a deep dive into the social, economic, government, culture, and educational aspects of southern Beaufort County while completing a project that meets a need in the community.

You don’t have to look far to see the impact. Over the past seven years, over $128,000 has been invested into the community via leadership projects such as playground equipment at Oscar Frazier Park, Matthew's Oak in Shelter Cove Towne Centre, "Follow the Fiddlers" in Old Town Bluffton, Mitchelville Freedom Park interpretive signage, and more. The current class will hold a ribbon cutting next month on their project, the Bluffton Library Park.

To understand the difference the program can make, check out the video below from alumni of the program.
