Under general supervision, the Customer Care Specialist greets property owners and visitors while assigned to a gate house. The customer Care Specialist is required to verify that all vehicles are authorized to enter the Palmetto Dunes community in an efficient manner while providing assistance and directions in a professional and courteous manner. Duties and Responsibilities - Must consistently display a demeanor that promotes excellence in customer care - Must possess specific knowledge about Palmetto Dunes and general knowledge about Hilton Head Island to provide directions and assistance to property owners and guests - Identifies decals, daily passes and their authorized access points. - Manages assigned gates to allow authorized vehicles into Palmetto Dunes. Skills and Abilities Excellent customer care skills, including the ability to utilize sound judgment and discretion while resolving conflict. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact politely and cooperatively. Thorough knowledge of all passes and decals for Palmetto Dunes.to establish and maintain Ability to establish and maintain professionally effective working relationships with coworkers, property owners and the general public.
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
The candidate must pass a background check, drug and alcohol tests as required for the position, and any subsequent requests for these tests.
Consistently provide excellent customer care to all persons.
Quickly identify passes and decals to provide a safe and efficient flow of vehicles through the gates.
Work independently, exercise good judgment and make decisions with minimal supervision Diffuse situations quickly and resolve problems while exercising discretion
Follow and understand written and oral instructions
Know standard procedures for the use of telephones, portable radios, computers and any other equipment that is necessary to perform the job.
Maintain cooperative working relationships
Must satisfactorily complete the Palmetto Dunes Customer Care Specialist Training Program and a 90-day probationary period, where skills will be taught and assessed. This position also requires the satisfactory completion of regular customer care refresher training, where skills must be maintained according to acceptable standards.
Extended periods of standing will be required in an outdoor environment. This position man also cause the employee to regularly get up and down from a seated position.
Employees must adhere to a dress, grooming and appearance policy.
The employee may be required to work rotation shifts during a 24 hour period.
The employee may be required to work up to and after storm or natural disaster events.
Depending on need, approval of police authorities, and ability to make it into work. Senior management and outside law enforcement agencies will determine the appropriate response and access to the property.
PDPOA’s offices and worksites are smoke-free work environments. Smoking is allowed in designated areas at designated times determined by senior management.
Must be able to utilized computer equipment, including ,but not limited to, software to manage passes, access email and generate written reports.
All equipment necessary to complete the job will be provided by the employer.
